What do you think about this "war"?Which is your opinion? Why Windows? Why Linux?Or..why BSD,etc...
I prefer Windows.Why?It's easy to use,and flexible.Many tools/programs can't be used on Linux also.
So..?

Nothing.

I personally prefer anything unixy. The main things I prefer are the desktop environments, KDE and gnome are so much more customizable than windows. Also I don't have to worry about viruses, adware and malware.
Windows may have an advantage with the amount of commercial software but I don't really need any of them programs. I actually prefer many of the ones only available for linux, like amarok, so this argument is the opposite in my case :p.

I really don't like the os-fanboyism with linux vs windows vs mac. I think you should use what you like, and I really like linux.

edit: although I dont agree with the domain name these are the reasons I prefer linux http://www.whylinuxisbetter.net/

_('~')_/ how does it feel to be something on?

Oh,i don't afraid of viruses and malware on windows and i don't use an antivirus program or firewall..just windows firewall...linux have alternatives for tools that is used on windows (ex : winamp >> xammp).
Also i think that windows is secure than linux,a lot of exploits for linux ,for windows not. Most hacked servers is linux(eh,most of servers are *nix but..)...

Anything can be secure if you know how to set it up correctly.

Anyway, I like Linux better than windows. This is because of the versatility it has, and the ability to tinker and customize to my heart's content. That being said, I almost always use windows, because it is simple and most of the stuff I need for school requires windows. Even if there is a linux alternative program, I am always scared of messing up an assignment by it not being compatible or something.

Slackware Linux ROCKS!

May the Winds be with you.
